“Fabulix” Fairy Tale Movie Festival Annaberg-Buchholz, GER | 2019

The work shown here "Gold and Silver" for the Fabulix Fairy Tale Film Festival is based on a Bolivian fairy tale in which the sick king of the country sends his envoys to procure the blood of the moon and the sun, which contribute to his speedy recovery should, as society in his kingdom, due to his illness and the limited ability to govern, get into chaos except fate. During transport one drop falls on the earth and the blood of the sun turns to gold and the moon to silver. After the capture, the king is healed and the balance is restored in society.
Formally, the work refers to minerals that occur in the Ore Mountains, where the festival took place, and visualizes, on the one hand, the relation to nature, the surroundings, on the other hand, the chaos in contrast to the order (house wall). The colors gold and silver refer to the sun and moon, while the accentuation of neon orange symbolizes the "blood" of the sun and the moon.
