Brief
The client for this brief is myself and alternatively I am tasked with designing a promotional poster of the creative outcomes that I would likely produce in the future trimesters of my degree or business. - cafe service Heart x Bean Cafe trendy and tranquil taste emotion, the x symbolises and (Heart and mind) big bean is the head, classy symbolism
Design Statement
I am going to design an A3 landscape promotional poster for by business, ‘Heart x Bean Cafe’ using illustrator and Indesign. I intend for the poster to have a modern and comforting vibe and to be composed of images from Unsplash and use text that I create to place into the text boxes of the poster.
Sketch of Layout
I want the poster to have minimal text and more focused on the imagery and layout.
Typography - Illustrator
There are 6 images here depicting the typography formation process and selected fonts for the poster design. The first Rows show my experiments and closeup vies of details. The second row show the final design that will be used, it was the selected option as it incorporates commercial (straight and bold lines) and friendly (curves and bumps) elements in the letter forms that make it trendy and suitable for my cafe. The body text that will be used is Arial Rounded MT Bold because it matched with the custom font.
Indesign process
Thoughts
I really like the layout as there is lots of white space for the text and images as well as breathing space amongst the chunk of text. I feel that the poster is a bit too pain and that some of the content doesn't make sense (a promotional poster shouldn't have Welcome in the subheading).
Outcome
