Liverpool's New Central Library revealed

The new Central Library opened in Liverpool city centre. The £50m restoration and rebuilding project, which has taken more than two years to complete, opened its doors to the public on May 17 2013.

The building includes a showpiece four-storey central atrium with escalators, stairs and a domed ceiling; a special children’s library – called Discover – in the former international library below the Picton Reading Room; an “Imagine” space for listening to music or playing computer games, 130 computers and iPads for public use, and full Wi-Fi coverage throughout. It also has three meeting rooms for community groups. And a fully restored Hornby Room of archive material.

It really is a World class building and a great new public space for the city and its people. Definately on my list of places to hang between photo shoots !

Contact me via my Photography Liverpool website for more details, questions about licencing and commission details. Thanks, David
