The Tin Drum (De Blikken Trommel) tells the story of Oskar, a mute dwarf. Hitting his inseparable drum, he walks through life, through the Third Reich and through the war years. He becomes a member of the 'Front Theater', goes into the black market, practices art, works at a company that produces gravestones and plays in a jazz orchestra. He becomes a murder suspect, but when the real perpetrator is found, Oskar fears that he will soon be fired from the quiet madhouse where he writes his life story.
The design of the cover started out as a sketch, which I then digitally converted.
