Buffalo Women's March poster series

Women's March
poster series

The 2017 Women's March was a worldwide protest following the inauguration of President Donald Trump. It was the largest single-day protest in all of U.S. history. In my hometown of Buffalo, the march was just as huge. The famous pink hats & homemade signs flooded the streets in January 2017 & continue to every year since.

The Women's March in 2017 was my inspiration behind this series of posters. In one of the typography courses offered at the University at Buffalo, the class was tasked with designing a three part poster series of a place in Buffalo. For my series, I created a speculative event in Buffalo, a Women's March Speaker Series. Each of the three sessions has a different speaker & different topic, such as inclusion or the wage gap.

I drew inspiration from some of the clever protest signs that I saw during The Women's March. The repetition on the posters represents the chants that are shouted and repeated during protests such as this one. The bright pink is reminicent of the pink hats that flooded the street during the worldwide march.
