Trumpf GmbH is a German manufacturing company that produces machine tools, laser technology, and electronics. 2019 marks the company's 50th anniversary in the United States, and they asked us to create a visual system and communication pieces to be used in a series of celebratory events. We worked with Trumpf’s editorial team to develop a concept, structure, and design “50 Years in the 50 States,” a limited-edition commemorative book. Page layouts were developed around abstracted “T” -shaped elements and feature candid historic staff photos, a survey of vintage equipment, a timeline, an archive of advertising, and little known company facts. In addition, we developed a stylized “50” graphic, assembled from the negative spaces in their logo, that was animated for event and online usage.
