The purpose of the study was to collect complete information on the current state of lighting of the Vistula River quays in the central area of ​​the capital city of Warsaw in the context of:
- spatial conditions and the relation of the quay view formed at night compared to the daytime condition,
- completed and current transformations taking place on the quays, especially the left bank of the river.

In addition, the objective was also a basic, general inventory of the typology of lighting existing on the waterfront, assessment of its condition and assessment of spatial relations occurring between lighting and the space illuminated on a wide scale of a longer section of the waterfront.

In the end, the aim of the study is to develop general, final conclusions and design guidelines for the implementation of a full concept of comprehensive and coherent lighting of the illumination of the left and right bank of the Vistula in the central area of ​​Warsaw.
