For a school project i had to make a LP cover for a fictional artist. I really wanted to illustrate the entire artwork.

The fictional artist was an R&B singer from France who's message was for children to get educated, stay in school and keep off the streets.

First i made a visual family, to determine what kind of illustration technique/style i wanted to use and to get familiar with it:

I went for a style that was close to reality and had no outlines.

After that i started working on the fictional artist himself, and started with the head:

Then i started on the body, and the clothing he was wearing. It had to be something classy and business like:

Then i worked on the bus:

Then i made the school, which was also the background:

This was the first version:

After i got some feedback, i decided to show some more of the bad side, the street and the neighborhood it was located in. So this is the final version:
