A strong Nordic bank. Danske Bank is a Nordic bank with strong local roots and close links to the rest of the world. For more than 145 years, they have helped people and businesses in the Nordic region fulfill their ambitions. I helped them decorate their new headquarters in Aarhus. The Nordic feel is very much a reflection of the bank's new interior design, where the color scheme of the interiors is in fact inspired by the colors of P.S. Krøyer's blue evening pictures from Skagen Strand. 

It was important that the artwork could appeal widely to a large group of different people.They had seen some 3D collage works made on laser cut wood I had previously done. With these in mind, they wanted to develop a corner art piece. It should play along with a big "Brand / core" image that was essential to them. So the color scheme had to be adjusted so that the two very different things harmonized.

 I have chosen to work with different kinds of images. Both images of nature, people, texture and architecture. There is a mix of abstract and hard-to-decode images that reference the wishes and dreams their customers have and therefore come to get help with realizing through a loan. Some are simpler to decode, such as a close up of a wheel capsule (new car), marble (possibly new kitchen or bathroom.) It can also be the dream and a new garden or a journey, or the dream of creating a safe base for the family to be referred to. Common to all the selected images, is to visualize Danske Banks core values in a sublime way. 

This more abstract approach allows each viewer to choose their own focus and what exactly that image means to them. The more things are spelled out, the less freedom the viewers get. This is a work created for those who need to see it every day or at every bank meeting, and the wish is that they see something new every time and thereby get a sense of the agility that the bank also offers. We move in interaction with each other.
