The first in a series of jewelry collections, Attraction has been developed as a necklace and earrings. These creations typify Bold-design’s fascination with reworking techniques. The focal point here is the closure’s transformation into the ornament. Its “magnetic” power accentuates the sensuality and gives each piece its esthetic appeal.
The closure as jewelry
With Attraction, the ornament is also functional. Thanks to the alliance of blown glass and magnets, the closure becomes the central focus of the piece. The technique of encapsulating magnetic gold or silver ball bearings inside glass shapes means that the transparent bubbles or tubes reveal the play between the magnets.
The Attraction necklace can be worn based on the wearer’s moods. When the glass shapes are side by side, the necklace is symmetrical, when they are overlapped or stacked, the closure and ornament are one and the same … an elegant confusion !
