Lightness, sobriety, elegance … the Plume light is inspired by elements in nature. It’s structure of visible “veins” – like leaves or insect wings – combines a delicate airiness with a sturdy material. The attraction of this strong contrast symbolizes the two-part balance which is often found in Bold-design’s projects.

Lightweight strength

Plume is suspended from the ceiling like a luminous mobile. Though its paper look gives it a graceful quality, it is actually made of Tyvek®, a non-woven material of polyethylene fibers whose robustness reveals a force imbued with lightness. The small versions can be made in Sparkle Drop Paper, a non-woven material mix of paper and metal.

Each model is shaped by folding and then held in place on an aluminum central axis.

Custom-made technicity

The translucent Tyvek® surface lets Plume diffuse light evenly. This quality, associated with the modulation of the LED lighting’s luminous intensity, creates moods that are always soft and warm. Plume is also available as a table lamp or wall sconce. The main technique of folding, linked to a specially-developed software, means that Plume can be custom-made in other shapes and sizes.
