While researching for this project, I came across an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph, called "Nefer" that both stands for beauty and is a depiction of a stringed musical instrument that resembles the lute. It became part of the symbols I've created for the original poster, and then became the central theme for this alternative poster.
Pursuing the idea of "Nefer" came naturally as this year's edition of Cairo Jazz Fest was largely dedicated to the contribution of stringed-instruments throughout the history of jazz music.
