This is an illustration project I did at the Academy about the oral tradition of the Native American.  While I have no Native American roots, I have always admired the traditions and lifestyle of our Native American peoples and I have many paintings done by my grandfather of Native Americans.  My father was a big storyteller and we spent many summer evenings around a campfire listening to stories of camping adventures or recitations of Robert Service poetry.  This project is dedicated to both men.  It is done in mixed media on illustration board with mainly oils.
