Each residential learning community is associated with a specific residence hall, and each residential community organizes its community around one or two broad themes. The theme of the each community is not associated with any particular major, but are grouped arond broad themes associated with Jesuit education. Cura personalis is the broad them for Finn hall and the artwork needed to reflect this Jesuit ideal. Cura Personalis is a Latin phrase that translates as "care for the entire person". Cura Personalis suggests individualized attention to the needs of the other. The expression is a hallmark of Ignatian spirituality that is commonly used by the Catholic Church religious order, the Society of Jesus.
Celestial Stars is a nod to the universe and the endless search for our place in it. With speckled orbs and vibrant light, it reminds us that knowledge and meaning can be found everywhere: not just at the edges of the universe but also through inward reflection and finding God in all things.
The artwork was made into a metal bookmark to give away during the residence hall dedication ceremony.
