Over five years ago, on 17th of February 2008, the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija (so-called according to the 2006 Constitution of Serbia) self-declared a state of independence. Very fast, it's independence has been recognized by 75 United Nations states and the Republic Of China (Taiwan).

 

On 22nd of July 2010, the International Court of Justice ruled that Kosovo's declaration of independence did not violate international law.
