A series of James Bond inspired minimalist poster style illustrations by Oktopolis: The Art of Brian Miller for a 007 themed gala in London.
This minimalist poster style illustration for Ian Fleming's Goldfinger recalls the popular story to mind. From the imposing figure of Oddjob the henchman, to the gadget laden Aston Martin spy-car, this artwork invites you to relive the thrilling adventure of British agent James Bond. The titular villain's hand reaching for the bars of gold reveals Goldfinger's motivation. The flying circus high in the sky reminds us of this story's, "Bond Girl," and the pivotal role she plays in Goldfinger's nefarious plan to rob Fort Knox of its gold.
The Process started with grayscale comps for each of the five James Bond titles the client wanted portrayed. Those comps evolved into the final color designs. Each illustration was created using Adobe Illustrator Draw on Apple iPad Pro using the Apple Pencil. Then the artwork was exported to Adobe Photoshop where the typography was composited with the illustration and the final color adjustments were made. The illustrations were reproduced at approximately 8 foot tall and mounted to backlit light boxes allowing the color of each illustration to glow on the red carpet.
A widescreen version of the Skyfall artwork was also created to serve as a central photo opp backdrop at the gala in London.
