RenderWeekly S3W7 - Mechanical keyboard - HOV
Here is my participation for the last 2 weeks RenderWeekly challenge. It was a collaboration with Tim Zarki, who provided a 3D model of a mechanical keyboard (which I totally remodeled)
I took my inspiration in the magnificient OP-1 synthesizer by Teenage-Engineering, which is my personal favourite "design-speaking"
I decided to go with simple colors as a blue-ish anthracite grey and a solid white.
I wanted to add a new and extra feeling with a plexiglass stand, which give us the feeling that the keyboard is "hovering".

I also took advantage of it to make other simple componants stand out (anti-scratch pads or screws for example). I've always loved this plastic cases which lets us see-trough and look at the inside of our products.
(still remembering my see-through GameBoy Color)
Concerning the keys font, I used Comfortaa, designed by Johan Aakerlund which I found on Google Fonts.
I like the design but the renderings could have been better, I was in a rush time-speaking. Will maybe get back to it someday
EDIT : I uploaded a second version of the mechanical keyboard here : https://www.behance.net/gallery/85825691/OP-84-teenage-engineering-inspired-keyboard
Which one is the best ?
Thank you for watching !
