PATTERNS: Transformation

This book has been shortlisted in the 1st round in the Edition Lidu Art Books Wanted competition 2013.

Graphic design often works with visual patterns, mostly serving as beautiful decorative elements. However the production can be moved foward and new results can be searched. This book presents transformation of patterns from various environments and of different kinds into new, unexpected outcomes. Ten projects are divided into 5 categories: moment, urban, rhythm, dimensions and participation from people.
The untraditional cover and binding were selected to support the ongoing process of experimentation so the book doesn't have strict beginning and end.

Visual examples from the book:
Urban trash transformed into beauty (urban category).
This project explored asymmetry, similarity and searched for alikeness within nature. The beauty is turned into ugliness (dimensions category).
