Multi-cuisine restaurant

Serving as an ‘All Day Cafe’, the design is derived from the Udipi restaurant. The glass front takes that idea further by showcasing the rhythmic chaos of the cafe right on the street, that which has proved to be a USP to attract all crowds-early morning joggers to date-night couples. The furniture revolves around the typical bench like seating seen in an Udipi restaurant, sprinkled with the cafe feel. The wall art also gets in the street food chaos, thus adding to the ambiance. The table top brings in quirk with the randomly written quotes. Denim-the word itself spells causal, is which is used as seat fabric to go with the woody look and feel of the cafe.
The first floor is entirely used as the main kitchen serving to all the restaurant floors by a ‘dumb waiter’ lift. The ‘Fine Dine’ restaurant on the second floor is designed with a minimalist and formal approach.
Optimum use of the decor and wall treatments left behind by the earlier occupants results in the woody and earthy look of the interiors. As it is rightly said - “More the constraints, better the design”. The color scheme of the upholstery is selected as a slight contrast to the woody backdrop, just to break the monotony. Selection of the artifacts and paintings have been made with keeping the decor, concept and color schemes in consideration.
The lounge bar on the third floor is designed as a derivation from the vintage era. The woody decor with a pop of vintage green and yellow, get the quirk that a lounge bar demands. The design and selection of artifacts and wall finishes is such that, it has become a hub for youngsters on Saturday nights as well as middle aged customers who enjoy soulful music of the Golden Era on weekdays.
The rustic wall tiles and table top finishes contribute to the vintage feel of the lounge. The intricate ceiling design at the center with intermediate wooden members, is a strong derivation of the same concept.
The concept and design is made to compliment the decor elements such as the wooden ceiling and panels left behind by the original occupants on the property. The brief demanded the bar to be small and restricted to a small area, so as to maintain the flexibility of the function and crowd.
