I had so much fun creating weapons and costumes for Superheroes!
It was a project for a commercial and marketing campaign for MORA while I was Creative Director at Mad Genius.
The heroe’s name was The Eggsterminator and the gun was called the Scramblr5000.
It all started with me seeing one of my son's Nerf guns and thinking "That design is pretty cool, but what about if instead of it being bright yellows and oranges, I made it realistic?"
So I did.
Then when it came time for this commercial, I had skills I had developed from a quirky pursuit that I could now incorporate into my profession. It also led to me creating some award-winning pieces. What? All from trying something different and outside of my expertise.
So my #Headsmack tip to you today is:
Stretch yourself and pursue those quirky little odd things. It might not always lead to a "job" but it helps your mind snap out of ruts and easy thinking.
