UI-Design: Sportivation – motivating cool kids to move!

Sportivation is a new mobile application that motivates young children by letting them become their favourite idol, to sport on a regular basis and become more healthy in a fun way.

The young kids can measure their steps and movement, get instant feedback, rank, compare with friends, take challenges and collect sports cards as a reward.

Using Bump-technology the kids challenge each other in the school yard or swap already won cards.

The app was designed during a course in User-Interface design at Tilburg University. The projected included a thorough user research-, design- and evauation phase.

This gave us a great understanding of user needs and design theories before going into final design phase. Most decisions are based on course lecture and basic principles from the book of Donald A. Norman: " The Design of Everyday Things" (2002)

The project won the award for the 'Best Mobile Interface 2013' at Tilburg University

To my viewers: What is your opinion about this project and how we approached the problem? Thanks in advance! :)
