"Word Search" was created for the Global Learning Center at Yew Wah International School of Beijing, a school library space used by students from Year 1 through Year 8. As second language learners, the inclusion of English text and vocabulary words was important in the design, a way for students to familiarize themselves with English spelling, word usage, and context. 

A mural was first painted on the wall, inspired by the geometric shapes found in the existing interior design (squares on the carpet, circular lamps, hexagonal ceiling panels), while the text was designed separately and printed as vinyl stickers which were placed over the completed mural.

The colors reference the carpet and furniture found in the space, and were intended to be bright and youthful without being overly childish.
