Each year, the marketing agency TMW Unlimited produces Viewpoint, a magazine dissecting current trends in marketing, culture, and creativity, as well as forecasting what’s to come.

In 2018, I designed one to accompany an article about the role of storytelling within marketing. The brief from an art director was to juxtapose the old and the new and I decided to use to iconic Rockwell-esque imagery of 1950s domestic harmony, and neon and chrome 1980s sci-fi.

The final version emulated the cover of a pulp novel; an earlier iteration (far right) incorporated the title in a further emulation of the ‘80s sci-fi aesthetic.
The following year, I worked on a design for another article, this time on industry disruptors. I illustrated clean picture-book style representations of industry standards and their disruptors (as mentioned in the article), and then split the visual in two, to draw a contrast between the old and the new.
