»Ludwig der Bayer. Wir sind Kaiser!« (»Louis the Bavarian. We are Emperor!«) was the motto of the Bavarian State Exhibition of 2014 hosted in Regensburg, Germany’s only medieval city that has been preserved.
Seven centuries after he was elected and crowned Roman-German King in 1314, the exhibition was devoted to the life of Louis the Bavarian. Possibly the most important member of the house of Wittelsbach at this time, he even managed to become Holy Roman Emperor. At different historic places in Regensburg, the visitors experienced a compelling story. Precious exhibits from the fourteenth century, fascinating media installations and the uniqueness of the real locations created an overwhelming impression of medieval times. The exhibition was staged and realised by Friedrich Pürstinger; collaboratively, we designed the exhibition graphics.
