Field of Graves - Book Cover Illustration
Getting the chance to redesign a book cover was a project that I had been wanting to attempt. Anything print design gets me excited. Being able to choose the book that was to be redesigned, I went in search to find the perfect book. Halloween is my favorite holiday and whenever I get the chance to do something with a Halloween flare, I jump at it. So I found the book, 'Field of Graves' by J.T. Ellison. I then set out to try and capture a strong visual to go along with the book title. In my experience, if a book has a strong cover, it will only promote readers to pick it up and interact with it. I wanted something of that nature that could be mysterious enough to want readers to pick it up and explore it but not too much that one would be fearful of the contents. Through some sketching and compositing it came together and ended up being a cool work in the process.
