CHALLENGE
How might we redesign an e-commerce (imaging agents for hospitals) operating in 53 countries in 9 different languages with different set of features for better usability and modern look and feel and design the interface to support all cases but still be generic enough so that the implementation costs are not higher than necessary.
THE WAY
REQUIREMENTS AND CURRENT SOLUTION
I started with gathering requirements from the hospitals and analysing the current architecture and flows. Since there was no budget or time for usability testing the only thing that I could do is to redesign with the use of the best practices which was already solving some usability issues.

NEGOTIATIONS FOR ADJUSTMENTS
In order to keep the layout generic and flexible enough so that the costs of implementation aren't too high I negotiated features with hospitals because sometimes as I found out they wanted something different but it didn't serve any particular purpose or what they wanted could have been solved slightly differently than they envisioned, but would still serve the purpose but match better for the overall layout.

TRANSLATIONS & IMPLEMENTATION
I was also responsible for managing the translations process and inserting all the translations into the design, making sure we won't have any problems because the text length changed sometimes dramatically from language to language. The last step was implementation of the designed solution.
IMPACT
Unfortunately there was no data available about the usage of the shop before the redesign, there was no opportunity to measure it afterwards as well, the only thing we know is that it generated $25M 6 months after the release which was a significant amount.
