Victoria's Secret Catalog Cover

The idea behind this catalog cover is that the body care products of Victoria’s Secret bring suavity to their client’s skin and also let them more beautiful. The feathers were used to create this atmosphere and make the customers think about how soft and light their skin could be with the products. The photograph was taken to emphasize the feathers and also shows the name of the brand. The colors of the composition were chosen to match with the brand - that uses variations of pink - and also to match with the color of the product in the picture. I’ve separated these two colors in two opposite corners, following the direction and angle of the product in the image. The positioning of the headline and logotype followed the same rule: they are in the same direction of the rest of the elements. This way, the eyes of the viewer follow a diagonal through the cover and get all the information. I also let the image be a little more exposed to create a very enlightened scene. The purpose was to create a sophisticated look and also to connect the composition with the idea of a soft and healthy skin. For my type, I decided to go with Trajan, which is very close to the type used on the company’s logotype. This way, the headline could also bring the sophistication that is one of the main characteristics of the Brand.
