DOUET FARM REBRAND

Laurence and Louise run a growing (and soon to be organically certified) farm, specialising in goat products, and got in touch to discuss rebranding ahead of launching a new line of products, including a range of kefir drinks. I'd worked on brands for previous businesses they'd been involved in before so already had a good working relationship with them (mainly because they're lovely people!), and when I heard about their plans for the farm I was excited to be involved with the creative side of things. The general concept came to me soon into chatting about their plans for the business, so naturally (pun very much intended) I was excited to get started and share my ideas.

The products they produce are premium ones and the farm is a boutique operation, so I wanted to create a brand identity and product packaging that stood out against their competitors, both local and national, while reflecting their approachable yet professional nature in a way that's easy to digest (again, pun very much intended).

This resulted in a combination of hand-drawn typography and completely custom-drawn graphic elements with modern, sans serif text and a simple, two-colour palette. A different highlight colour might be used for their line of cheeses which are due for release later this year, purely to distinguish that line from their liquid products, but for now at least, teal is the order of the day. The goat emblem stands proud over the farm's name, and was probably the part that we focussed on the most, revising it over and over until they felt he was just right. It's always worth taking the time to refine things to the nth degree though, and we're all extremely happy with how the brand turned out.

The hand-drawn elements even extend to the numbers inside the recycling symbols on the packaging, tying it all together and emphasising that nothing is overlooked at the farm - especially sustainability.
