B U I L D A S I G N I C O N P R O J E C T
We had recently introduced a new Buildasign logo and were working on a new site design. This new site required the creation of a whole new set of icons to match the updated style. I was tasked with developing and executing on these new icons.
PROCESS: I began by studying the logo and mentally compiled a list of shapes that make up the form. At that point I began sketching, keeping those shapes in mind.
At that point I presented these sketches to my creative director and the other designers on my team. My creative director requested that I take a step back and create some mood boards for several of the icons in an attempt to flesh them out before beginning work in illustrator.
From here I began executing on the elements in illustrator. I completed several versions of each icon.
I presented these options to my team. We discussed their applications and selected the top contenders.
With final versions selected we then integrated them into the page layouts.
