The project considers the issues of affordable housing in a positive way, as the basis for the development of further possibilities.
As usual in other branches of low cost economy, these buildings are designed to offer only essential services, while the rest can be added later, according to the user's choice.
A little amount of the surface is used to build a common living room, at the end of the courtyard, of about 50 sqm. This space, could be used by every family for seven days every year allowing different uses.
This produces an open spatialty that is the beginning of a process, not a reduction of quality as often happened in social housing.
Five simple assumptions about valuable existing elements, micro-landscape, building masses, structure, plumbing, and façades delineate an accurate and rich spatial structure, open for further improvements.
In this sense the result should be greater than the sum of its parts.

a. Existing elements: ground and trees. The plan minimizes the excavation for the parking and holds the important existing trees, quality elements already on the site for free.
b. Microlandscape. Trees, fences and climbing plants combine with the existing trees to assure privacy and reduction of the noisy surroundings. The resulting open spaces are used as common living room or kitchen gardens.
c. Building masses. Optimal use of vertical connections and of daylighting suggest to have 3 storeys in the south facing house and seven storeys on the little "tower".
d. Bearing structure. Large elements for floors and walls reduce building times.
Their external surface is refined enough that they can be painted without needing a further finishing, like plaster, that can be added later.
e. Dividing walls and plumbing. Dividing walls have a light construction and can change during the life-time of the building. Kitchens, badrooms, and WCs are arranged in order to minimize plumbing length.
f. Outer shell. Building-high prefabricated elements allow fast working times.
