I discovered encaustics by accident when I began using oils for the first time.

Desiring to add more layers, texture, and speed of drying time to the process of oil painting, I experimented with adding candle tea lights to the painting as it was in development. To make the wax adhere to the board, I simply used glue.

The process was an adventure, and this summer I have a collection in production with an exciting concept, and much larger sizes. Enjoy!
