Artist Statement

Perceptions based on finite vision conclude that unless conditions are favorable, true happiness is grim. An infinite vision whispers against the natural lifestyle: it calls for uncomfortable, difficult, and hard. It promises a calling so marvelous and mysterious, it is tempting to choose fear and remain in the easy, comfortable, and convenient ways of life.

To be brave and choose to see with an eternal focus, requires the removal and stripping away of the old. Old perceptions and conclusions are replaced with truth, identity, and purpose. The example of this vision, Jesus Christ, gave up His eternal reality and lived among the blind so that they may come to see what is true life. The calling of God, the mind set to add to the Kingdom of God, is radically transforming.

These oil paintings relay that change is slow, constant, and can serve a larger purpose. A field may be constantly battered by the storms but can serve a larger vision to feed multitudes of people. If plants had the ability to choose, they may live as we do and settle for less than their intended purpose. It is my ambition to see with God’s eyes: to embrace the firm unwavering foundation of His character. No matter the circumstances, my life does and will serve a larger purpose. Not because I am great, but the One who holds the stars is my Father, and He will never lead me astray. His vision for me will never perish. It is eternal.
