Shap-Shap typeface:
A typeface I designed as part of my research about South Afrikan/ Afrikan township culture and how it is displayed by the small informal enterprises i.e. Spaza-Shop, Salons or Barbershops. The shapes of the character are inspired by the corrugated iron shacks that these mentioned shops occupy as a place of business, I celebrate the rawness and self interpretation exposed by these shops and their visual styles that is unique to Afrika.
