Haftton Clothing is a men’s department store in the right-hand city centre of Salzburg. It offers, among others, raw denim from Japan, sewn-welted shoes from England, hand-painted belts from Austria or finest cloth from Italy for tailored garments. The broad range of goods is completed by industrial lamps, furniture and liquor.

For the brand relaunch, we wanted to point out the craftsmanship behind the products also in the look and feel of the updated corporate design. This hand-crafted quality is supported by rough, frayed typography, ornament and banner – with a swing stamp, every shopping bag is even hand-stamped. The brand presence is complemented by tintype photographs. These result from a photographic direct-positive procedure based on the collodion wet plate developed by Frederick Scott Archer in 1850. For the visual language of Haftton Clothing, Christian Schneider + Michael Klimt have taken such handmade photographs with unique characteristic. True men!
