Fundación Alimentando Esperanzas - UX

This project was created in a 2 day Do-Action Hackathon were my team was in charge of creating a website for an ONG, Alimentando Esperanzas. This ONG  provides daily meals, education and psychological  support to children from a high risk community in Costa Rica. My role as a UX Designer was to research on the user's needs, create personas, select photographs  and to provide the structure of the site using a sitemap and wireframes.

Alimentando Esperanzas needed a website to provide additional information about the ONG and to show the users the ways they could collaborate financially and as volunteers.

My role as a UX designer: I interviewed the Director of the ONG, and 2 volunteers in order to have a better glimpse of how Alimentando Esperanzas worked, what were their needs and what issues they encountered. With this information I was able to create personas, work on a sitemap to guide the developers on the main structure, and work on the wireframes.

What I found out about the organization: The main way to recruit new volunteers was by phone, and some volunteers that weren't very related to technology preferred to pay in cash to a messenger sent by the organization, instead of paying online.
