Mural was painted during the 4th Edition of 'La Voz de la Mujer' Festival in Santa Cruz de La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.
Thanks to Karmala Cultura, women from different countries were able to met each other and share their knowledge through joint debate, film, literature, poetry, music, theatre, murals art and workshops. The festival brought voices from Senegal, Germany, Korea, Poland, Morocco, Costa Rica, DR Congo...
Throughout 7 days, many activities took place to create awareness in a field of
Gender Perspective.
It was an honoured to be involved in the festival and to leave a mark on the ‘Isla Bonita’ by painting ‘US’ mural.
Mural focuses on the need of transformation where all elements of civilisation can be more evenly balanced. To achieve balance woman is stepping out from the shadow and passing through the frame of old stereotypes. It’s important, that men put themselves in women’s shoes more often to understand women situation and try to look through their eyes, mind and heart to the future, where the rights of women, men and transgender are equal. Little person standing in the centre of green scale in an abstract form, reminds us, that, at the end of the day, we are all human beings, despite the gender.
The energy between US should unite US and power up our navigation system.
