With the song »Karmacoma« by Massive Attack, Radio Freequenns went on air in the Styrian region Ennstal on 1 April 1999. Being a free radio, Radio Freequenns produces a 24-hour programme and presents broadcasts on music, comedy, improvisation, social topics, protection of nature and the environment as well as art and culture.

The logo visualises the component parts of the radio’s name – »Free« for free radio, »Enns« for the river Enns and »Frequenz« for frequency – with an abstracted wave, showing sound waves as well as water in motion. In the different products, the corporate design plays literally and visually with parts of popular lyrics, which are humorously put into a new context. Rock on!
