I started this project a few years ago and in the recent months, have begun working on it again!  My goal was to create a set of images that turned people into “sculptural elements” emerging from a wall.

The merging of person and wall is accomplished both on set and in post-production editing.  I start by painting my model’s skin with Mehron paints to match the wall color or wall paper. 

The shoot typically happens in stages.  Between each stage I cut the hole/s larger so that more of the model can emerge through the wall.

Once I’ve chosen my final images, I process them in Photoshop to make the illusion more seamless.

These images are meant to feel very still contemplative; as if you were sitting in a quiet room with only your thoughts.
