I bring fanciful creatures and faerie tales to life through costume design, prop building, and digital editing.  This merging of hand-craft and digital process creates a scene that feels believable and, in a way, natural.

This mermaid tail was made from hand-dyed fabric and silicone.  It was created to blend in with a pale skin-tone.  I have plans to create more of these tails in a range of skin tones.
The tail, as it is, does not blend seamlessly.  That’s where Photoshop plays an essential role.  I try to keep my processing as natural as possible.  My editing principal is this: “Remove distractions and emphasize the story elements.”
The design on the dress was created with Dye-na-flow paints.  I created my deign on a piece of damp felt, folded it in half for symmetry, and then pressed it like a stamp onto the dress.
Some props are more involved than others.  This baby Unicorn was created with faux fur, apoxie clay, and taxidermy supplies.  The fur on the face was hand laid for realism.

The wings on these soft sculpture props were created from macro photographs of real bee wings.
