My concept for this animation was to highlight the similarities between the fluidity and graceful nature of water and a ballerina by morphing a water splash into a dancer.

In order to create this animation, I began by watching reference footage of dancers and water splashes, as well as by creating my own water splash footage.  I sketched several pages of water-based imagery for practice before moving on to my animation.  Next, using Adobe After Effects, I composited two footage files together: the first was a water splash, and the second was a dancer.  Then, in Adobe Photoshop, I rotoscoped over top of the footage using the goros brushes to achieve the illustrative effect.
