The Blanc, Restaurant by Hortpark

It is begin from the Neoclassicism architecture; it was widespread and lasted well into the 19th century in French. In this period, the artists become obsessed with straight lines and everything was simplified, it was very different with Baroque, which was much more in detail. Here their aims were clarity, balance and simplicity of the form. So based from the artists aims in Neoclassical period, the designer comes out with the layering concept of this restaurant, it is also inspired by the ceiling of the church where people can see the “vaults” was being repeated in the alley of the church.
Inside The Blanc people can see the layering of the ceiling is not in the same height, the function of this layering is not only for decorative ceiling, by doing this layering, it also creating a space of the restaurant, defining the dining area and its covering the bright lighting so the light will not very strong, eventually it creates a romantic ambiance especially at night.
