ZACATECAS 70
As better said by Space10 co-founder, Simon Caspersen, "Get rid of the open-plan office", Zacatecas 70 is an office project thought-out to break the ongoing trend of open floor plans. Instead, we challenged ourselves to use "color blocking & poppy colors"  to successfully divide the office spaces and their functions, and with this give our user new working experiences.

As a team, we decided to nurture the several spaces, by adding the right amount of materials, textures, and colors that could not only encourage the use of creativity but also create a peaceful environment where people can work.

Zacatecas 70 is an old house located at the heart of a bohemian and classic neighborhood in Mexico City: La Roma. Not only is this house located in a beautiful area but it is also claimed INBA property. INBA is a pretty cool organization in Mexico that prevents beautiful old buildings or facades from being torn down. Having this in mind, as a team our mission was to find balance in mixing the right amount of color, textures and modern style to the classic and in a way messy, but beautiful, look of this building. All of this without losing sight of our second priority: "let's get rid of the open floor plan".
After several explorations for different layouts and space planning projections, this was our favorite solution. The diagram below shows us, not only our space organization, but also the way we were planning to color block each function in this building. Right after the color exploration, we had some fun choosing materials and colors for each room. The main challenge here was to make every color and texture work effectively by itself, but also work along with other material choices from other spaces. All of this so the user can have a different experience in each room, but also make him/her feel comfortable with the combination of styles, colors, and textures inside Zacatecas 70.
