CBBC: ‘The Revolting World of Stanley Brown’

Working with Platform Post Production on this new CBBC sitcom, James jumped onboard to provide a full pipeline of concept design, 3d modelling, through to 3D animation, lighting and visual effects on 12 episodes. James designed, modelled and animated the robot character ‘Olivia’ – the faithful robot sidekick to the blundering time-traveller Archie.

 

Aswell as being able to successfully travel through the spacetime continuum, Olivia had to be able to transform effectively into various other objects – including a monster, boombox stereo and also a viewing screen – the main way of displaying the scientific segments that formed the backbone of the shows educational content.

 

The most complex sequence, James also fully designed, animated and composited ateleportation shot, where Archie travels back in time via his pod – using a sequence of green-screened live action, cleverly-composited CGI and visual effects.
