Life Through Recordable Music

In the fall of 2011 I took a class under the instruction of Ramone Muñoz called Communication Design 2. In this class we were given the challenge of designing a short book about the history of a man made object. I chose to research and design a book about the history of the recordable music player, starting with the music box and ending with smart phones. This book ended up being more than just a history of these objects. I also wrote a lot about music affected the people in the various decades, as well as how it has affected my own life. Thus, the name, “Life Through Recordable Music.” In contrast to my previous publication, I decided to be more expressive and experimental with this piece. This was in order to reflect the emotion and variety of the various types of music and decades that this book covers, from 1811 to now.
