Herstory Exhibition Branding and Typographic Design

Statement: Herstory is a (fictional) photography exhibition that displays archived images from public domain database at the Library of Congress. The show is a celebration of womanhood, ancestry, family and the ephemeral delights of life. The photographic subjects are given new life in this exhibit, celebrating our diverse ancestries and the those that paved the way for a new generation. This small lens into the past allows us vignette glimpses as we watch our predecessors laugh, cry, and dance. The exhibition’s branding materials seek to elevate this message, using the photographs to construct new designs and forms that are still appropriately nostalgic.

Explanation: Public domain images were collected from the Library of Congress's online database and collaged together in Photoshop to create the letterforms and secondary designs. These branding elements were then used to create various merchandise and media graphics to support the show.
