I heard some government officials chatting over a cup of coffee that my people had hustled to serve them with their hard earned money. They were discussing a party to celebrate their latest swindle in the Medical department as they planned on the next one in the education sector.

My little kids were promised free education and my older siblings and I were all promised jobs! But we lay in agony without even the ability to think through a business proposal because we have no one that we know in the who’s and who’s circles.
My ageing ancestors were promised some remunerations as they age that I hear magically disappeared, because we have to live by our "Magical Kenya" tag! Magic does exist where I come from. It does! A friend of mine tells me the guy in charge just moved from his 3 bedroomed house to a palatial estate manned by these huge German shepherds with some men in green at his gigantic gate. You need an advanced ticket to see him.

I have a neighbour who tried to sneak his little one out of maternity because the bills were unaffordable! Apparently there was monies put aside to sort them out but some guy had an emergency priority of finishing up his couple of billions project that he had started as his kids went to one of the top 10 most expensive universities in the world.

My fear right now is that I am not sure I’ll be able to face the next day! It’s a concoction of anger, bitterness, desperation, loss of hope and strength. The only strength left in me is...I don’t think its wise to say it here because it’s too graphic for these streets. I’ll keep it for myself and maybe, maybe, just maybe I’ll be able to gather courage to make a step today to get me to tomorrow this time to tell a good story. I have so much to say but typing in a moving car on these pothole manicured roads is a toll order...As I wait for the rains to fill them up. Maybe it will make it better as we would be able to afford to release our stresses by swimming in these holes and not have to worry about paying that debt as we sgr to the Oceans at the Coast.
