Single Cover - Bizarre (Rufus) // I Wish I Was High

Rufus Arthur Johnson aka Bizarre is an American rapper coming out of Detroit, Michigan, best known for his work as a prominent member of the Detroit-based hip-hop group D12 (The Dirty Dozen).
After dropping Valentine’s Day Massacre mixtape and teaming up with Xpression and Castro Escobar for Bad B**ch single, Bizarre is back with I Wish I Was High, the first single off his upcoming solo studio album Rufus.
This song and the new project are really going to change what fans think they know about Bizarre. “Rufus is my real name. I chose that name because I felt like it was time the fans got to hear my story”.
Singing his way through Rufus allowed Bizarre to tap into a level of vulnerability he might not have been able to reach otherwise. Through this equally emotionally draining and cathartic process, Bizarre shares his real life experiences on everything, from his years-long battle with weight-loss to the ways in which his life has been molded by his stepfather.
The track's initial name was Medicine and it featured an illustration of a pill breaking in half, defining a funky vibe for the single cover. The initial sketch for Medicine was drawn by Nora Oros, Serchis Creative's talented illustrator.
Since his introduction to the mainstream national audience as a member of D12Bizarre’s shirtless, shower cap performances and psychotically humorous rhymes certainly made him stand out in a six man rap group.

Rufus becomes the beginning of a new chapter for Bizarre, bringing along the fans that are ready to grow with him, while giving new fans a 360-degree view of who he’s always been.
