All these pieces were developed as a part of a two week long workshop on resist dyeing where we were supposed to work with a particular resist dyeing technique. I decided on working with Kanoko shibori which involves hand stitching as a technique to resist.
The piece that you see below was the first trial at making a piece using Kanoko shibori. It was done using black direct dye on muslin.

The theme for the following samples was 'sea'. I used Kanoko as a technique to develop wave like forms, dyeing different parts in various shades of indigo. The pieces that one sees below were the initial attempts at achieving the desired effect before creating the final piece.

The following pieces were developed around the theme of 'the moon'. The one that you see right below the text is supposed to be the reflection of the moon on a full moon night whereas the second piece is the representation of a full moon night itself.
