Street harassment is a daily problem that female students and women in Greenside, Johannesburg face, it makes them feel unsafe and the phrases that men shout are uncomfortable. So we decided to design a three part social media campain that helps with awareness about cat calling in a fun manner that will make women feel comfortable and empowered.
The hashtag It's Annoying AF with the enclosed speech bubble is our campaign logo, the reason behind it was when we asked women about cat calling the common reply was it's annoying so we decided to use it as our branding, we added the Initials AF for emphasis and relatability to meme culture plus our target audience which is the female youth that follow current trends.
The phrase on the shirts "Abuti weh space" meaning brother please give me space to breathe, is a clap back that a woman would say to a man if she's ever harassed.
The business card is a card that women give out when men ask for their number and at the back of the card is the harassment hotline.
