Underwater Sound design

Underwater sounds
I was asked to help with sound design for this promotional 3D render. The video is designed to explain a system which can scan and detect sea lice in farmed fish and was made by my colleague Lasse Farstad at Eggs Design. The video was to be played on loop at trade shows as part of the company's promotional stand.

Working in Ableton Live I first created and underwater soundscape with metal clangs, rumbles, bubbles, muffled waves and some classic sonar-like submarine sounds. I also added wave splashes as the camera pans up above the surface, combined with wind and wave sounds and the drones from the LED signal system.

In the later stages I composed background music to tie the whole thing together. I made this relatively subtle considering it would probably be on loop for hours on end.
